"Ivermek" is a medicine for goats, which, according to the instructions for use, is used once to kill a number of parasites. This toxic substance is given to animals in minimal doses. One milliliter of Ivermek is enough for goats to get rid of nematodes, lice and ticks forever. Prophylactic injections are given to animals 2-3 times a year.
Composition and release form of the drug
“Ivermek” is a pharmaceutical antiparasitic medicine used to treat goats and other domestic animals. The drug is dispensed without a doctor's prescription. The main component of the drug is ivermectin, the auxiliary component is vitamin E. After application, the active substance provides a long-term parasiticidal effect, and it is excreted from the goat's body mainly with urine and milk.
Ivermectin was obtained by fermentation of the fungus Streptomyces avermitilis. It acts at the cellular level (enhances the production of an inhibitory neurotransmitter) and leads to paralysis and death of parasites living in the gastrointestinal tract, nasopharynx, lungs, and skin. It is advisable to use this toxic substance in the doses recommended in the instructions.

The medicine is prescribed to goats with therapeutic and prophylactic purposes for nematodes and arachno-entomoses. “Ivermek” is used in veterinary medicine for the treatment of various domestic animals (cows, sheep, pigs) and birds (broilers and ordinary chickens) against parasites. For goats, this drug is prescribed for nematodirosis, bunostomosis, psoroptosis, hemonchosis and other parasitic diseases. The tool is used to get rid of worms and against lice, bloodsuckers, ticks.

"Ivermek" is administered intramuscularly to goats when parasites are detected. During the injection, it is important to follow the rules of asepsis. It is recommended to wipe the injection site with alcohol before inserting the needle. You need to prick in the area of the croup (lower back), thigh or neck. The injection is given in the place where the goat has more muscles. The easiest way is to inject the animal into the thigh.
Dosage: 1 ml "Ivermek" per 50 kg of animal weight.The injection is done once with a disposable 2 ml syringe. In severe cases, the drug is administered twice, but with an interval of 8 or 10 days. Prophylactic injections are made in the spring, just before the animals are taken to pastures, or in late autumn, before the stables. Injections against worms are recommended only in the absence of colds or infectious diseases.

When using this tool, it is necessary to take into account not only body weight, but also the general condition of the animal. It is advisable to reduce the dosage for sick goats, then there will be no side effects. This toxic drug is not hazardous at the recommended rates. An incorrectly calculated dosage can lead to an unwanted reaction. In case of an overdose, depression, lack of appetite, diarrhea, increased salivation, tremor are observed. In this case, the goat should be given more drink.
Occasionally, the animal has an allergic reaction: increased salivation, ataxia, increased urination or defecation. For allergies, goats are given an antihistamine and plenty of water.
Contraindications
It is forbidden to use Ivermek if the components of the drug cause an allergic reaction in animals. The medicine is not prescribed for weakened and sick goats. The drug is not given to pregnant and nursing uterus. You cannot prescribe other antiparasitic agents together with Ivermek, as well as drugs containing macrocyclic lactones.

When treating animals with "Ivermek", it is impossible to reduce the dosage (the effectiveness will decrease) or increase the amount of the drug (an allergic reaction is possible). After the injection, the meat will be edible only after 28 days, that is, in a month you can slaughter goats. Storage terms and rules
Ivermek in its original packaging can be stored for two years from the date of manufacture. Temperature - from 0 to 20 degrees Celsius. It is recommended to store the product in the medicine cabinet along with other drugs for the treatment of goats. After the expiration date, it is prohibited to use Ivermek.
After opening, the drug must be refrigerated (do not freeze) and used within 42 days. It is forbidden to use empty vials from under the medicine for household purposes, it is recommended to throw them in the trash.
